This leading provider of internet and telephony products to consumers in Australia was seeking an information management solution that would consolidate large volumes of valuable customer data into a platform that ensured the real-time analysis and reporting of business performance.

Lacking a common information management platform, the provider was unable to consolidate data quickly and accurately from its many disparate operational systems, and spreadsheets were in wide use. In addition, analysis of operational reports was time-consuming to set up and difficult to execute. Approximately 90 standard reports were in use at any one time with limited filtering, drill-down and drill-through functionality.
 
The new information management solution will use IBM Cognos Express as the platform and the solution will be designed to furnish the provider with the extensive new BI capabilities including ad-hoc reporting, trend analysis, scenario planning and what-if analysis, predictive analytics, budgeting and forecasting, and data discovery.
